Our dear classmate Patrick Li Sai-cheong 李世昌[Class of '75] passed away on March 4, 2009 in Hong Kong after a brief battle with liver cancer. He is survived by his wife Daphne. After graduation from Wah Yan, Patrick attended Mankato State University, (now part of University of Minnesota) and had lived in Australia for an extended period of time before returning to Hong Kong in the late 1990s.
During his battle with cancer, classmates James Wong and Kipling Chang in Hong Kong had been providing a lot of personal assistance.

The 2009 Spring Banquet was successfully held At the Century Palace Restaurant on 28 March with 8 tables of guests. We welcomed many new faces and Wahyanites from Ottawa and Buffalo, New York. Pictures of the function can now be viewed here.
On February 20, 2009, we were invited by Tim Kwan (1967) to tour the Mon Sheong Court at McNicoll/Kennedy, Scarborough, a recent project of the Mon Sheong Foundation. Tim, a past President of the Foundation, was involved in the project. While we were being shown the facilities designed for senior living by the property manager, Tim put on the hat of the chef and was busy preparing lunch for us in the new kitchen of dining room. At the end of the tour, lunch was ready in the family banquet room. We had fresh green salad, delicious pasta topped up with scallop and slices of sausages, served with red wine. To complement a delightful lunch, John Kan (1967) brought us fresh pastries from a bakery where line-up was customary. – aho

Father George Zee met with Anthony Ho briefly on Wednesday, October 29. He had finished attending the Toronto 10th Energy Psychology Conference at Novotel in downtown the previous weekend. As evidenced in the photo, Father is in good spirit and enjoys good health. He speaks clearly by pressing his throat with a finger. He drinks tea but finds food will clog his throat. He sends greetings to all wahyanites whom he will not be able to meet with during his short stay here. He will be flying back to Hong Kong after resting a few more days. He appreciates communication by emails only.
Together with Fathe Zee in the photo are Anthony, Dr. Tang Wai Kuen (class of 58, a retired physician from Hong Kong) and wife, Rebecca.
With close to one hundred guests attending, our 25th anniversary celebration was held in conjunction with our 2008 Annual General Meeting on 19th October 2008 at the Galaxy Restaurant. At the meeting, the general members confirmed the incoming Directors and the newly elected Board convened to re-elect David Wong to another term of office as President. Sumptuous dinner was served after the business part of the evening was over. During the dinner, we were treated to a video recording of Mr Wilson Hsueh’s performance and the newsreel of the actual TV broadcast of the 1999 WYK Diamond Jubilee celebration. Members of the classes 1968 and 1978 were honoured with souvenirs and so was Don Yau who travelled all the way from Calgary to join us. Mr. Anthony Ho gave a very witty roast of all our Presidents, from Raymond Kwong to David Wong. This was followed by Mr. Tam’s speech on his "Cradle of Chinese Ink Movement" exhibition. Many purchased or pre-ordered his ink painting movement book, which will raise fund for the upcoming exhibition. Its net proceed will be donated to Wah Yan. Finally, an urgent appeal letter from Principal So was read and over 3,010 dollars were raised for Wahyanite Cheung Chung Pan’s lymph-oedema treatment. (Another C$1,600.00 was raised at WYCHKOAA AGM on November 1.)
More AGM photos can be found in the WYKAAO Album.
