With hard fought matches against various teams in a day-long table tennis tournament at Markham Pan Am Centre organized by Hong Kong Inter-School Alumni Associations (HKISAA), Team WYKAAO is the second runner-up out of 16 teams. The annual table tennis tournament organized by Hong Kong Inter-School Alumni Associations (HKISAA) is scheduled to take place on July 14 (Saturday) at Markham Pan Am Centre. WYKAAO is sending a team to participate in the event. Please come and support our team!
Victor Tong (’68) continued to lead the competition by correctly picking the two winning teams in the quarter finals, with 23 points now. The second place currently is Andrew Tang (’65) with 18 points, followed by Wilson Kwong (former WYK teacher) with 15 points. Final results of the fun game will be announced after the final match this Sunday. Stay tuned!
With the completion of quarter finals, here are the latest results of our fun game. Victor Tong (’68) had correctly picked all four teams that get into semi finals, with 15 points currently leading the game. With 11 points is Wilson Kwong (former WYK teacher), followed by a four-way tie among Andrew Tang (’65), Peter Lee (’77), Simon Ho (’79) and Raymond Chan (’73), each having 10 points.
Results of semi-finals and the final may change the current positions since 4 points will be awarded for each team picked correctly for winning the semi-finals, and 8 points for picking the right champion. Stay tuned!
After Round of 16, Quarterfinal Teams are:
Uruguay, France, Brazil, Belgium, Russia, Croatia, Sweden and England.
Leading the competition currently is Victor Tong (’68) with 7 points, followed by three contestants who have 6 points. They are Andrew Tang (’65), Simon Ho (’79) and Raymond Chan (’73). Remember to send in the second submission by July 6.

Mr. Raymond Yu (August 30, 1931 – June 13, 2018) passed away peacefully on June 13, 2018 at Vancouver General Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Cecilia. He is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his soul mate whom he was blessed with during the autumn of his life, Ms. Marilyn Wai; by his Children, Vincent (Sheryn), Angelina, Edmund, Christine, Brenda (Ernest), Belinda; by his grandchildren, Adrian, Kevin, Natalie, Ethan; and by his many loving family members.

Back by popular demand, WYKAAO is holding a game for our members for picking the winners of FIFA World Cup Russia 2018. Here are the details:
Rules
(1st Submission) At Round of 16, select 8 advancing teams, get 1 point for each team picked correctly
(2nd Submission) Before Round of 8 starts (July 6), submit the following all at once
- select 4 advancing teams for semi-finals, get 2 points for each team picked correctly
- select 2 advancing teams for the final, get 4 points for each team picked correctly
- select the championship team, get 8 points if picked correctly
The top two contestants with the highest points will get a free ticket to our Alumni’s 35th Anniversary Celebration Dinner on Sunday October 21 (value at $88 each, sponsored by Tim Kwan ’67). Click here to join the game and send in your predications!
Hong Kong Joint Schools Alumni Association (HKJSAA) is organizing a Ginseng Bus Tour this July. The itinerary includes: Great Mountain 大山行 ginseng farm visit, factory tour and warehouse shopping, wine tasting (Hare Wine Co.) and/or shopping at Outlet Collection Niagara. The details are as follows:
Date: Saturday July 28, 2018
Cost: $50 each including tour bus and lunch box at 大山行
Pick-up/return location: Times Square
Pick-up time: 8:30 a.m.
Return time: around 7 p.m.
Dinner (optional): 金延宴 (First Markham Place) at 7:30 p.m.
