Joint-School Functions
(Saturday, April 28) In place of the Joint Schools Table Tennis Tournament (postponed to July 7), Wilfred Wei (’69) organized a friendly match with the La Salle College Old Boys’ Association (Toronto Chapter) in a Markham table tennis club. Seven of our team members attended the event. While exercising and playing in a really friendly environment, everyone got a glimpse of some of our potential opponents in the upcoming tournament. A friendly table tennis game with La Salle Old Boys Association, Toronto, will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
The venue is at The CCTTA (加 拿 大 華 人 乒 乓 球 協 會) on Denison, SW corner of Birchmount, in Markham. There is a big sign on the east entrance, diagonally opposite to a Chinese church.
3 tables have been confirmed for us this afternoon.
Captain Wilfred Wei (69) plans to field every one who shows up to play a 3-set game of 11 points against a LSC player.
2 of the 3 tables will be for the game which will last about max 15 minutes with the remaining table for general practice.
It means that you will be guaranteed 3 games and at least 2 hours of causal play IF you arrive at 2 p.m.
The Joint Schools Table Tennis Tournament, organized by Raimondi College Old Boys’ Association (Ontario), has been postponed to July 7 (Saturday). To prepare for entering the Joint Schools Table Tennis Tournament, we are holding a practice session this Saturday (Apr 7) at My Table Tennis Club. Those who have already shown interests in joining the team, please try your best to be at the venue (bring your own racquet) at 10 am. All other members, who missed our previous announcement, are welcome to show up as well. An optional lunch may follow the games depending on the interest of the participants.

The first Joint Schools Chinese New Year Celebration Day was successfully held on Sunday, Feb 5, 2012. The Day’s events include bowling, line dancing and karaoke, followed by a dinner gathering with 14 tables of guests. 15 WYKAAO members and spouse attended and participated in various capacities. All activities were well planned and carried out smoothly thanks to the hard working organizing committee and the helpers. Click here to see the pictures. Three of our directors, Bill, Victor and Jeff attended the 2010 Annual Dinner organized by St. Francis' Canossian College Alumni Association Ontario. Click here to see the pictures. The whole photo album of the event can be seen here.
The 2008 Valentine Ball was successfully held on February 9th at the Sheraton Parkway North Hotel. WYKAAO’s four tables were among the 45 tables of guests enjoying a wonderful evening of good food, live entertainment and dancing. Our past president Kelvin Chan was the co-chair of the event for the second time.
The next Valentine Ball will be held exactly on February 14th 2009, the exact Valentine Day. Please stay tuned for more details.
