Class 1971 Reunion

On June 10, a group of 14 students from Class '71, together with some of their spouses and family friends, joined a travel agency based in Vancouver for a 5-day bus tour of the scenic Canadian Rockies. Among the participants, five came from Canada, another four from the US, with the rest flying in from Hong Kong and Singapore respectively. Along the way, we stopped by the breath-taking Spahats Falls, Athabasca Falls, Columbia lcefield, Jasper National Park, before reaching our final destination - the world-famous Banff National Park and the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, where we stayed for the night. On our way back, aside from taking a gondola as well as a ski ride overlooking the vast Banff National Park & Lake Louise, we also made pit stops to see the impressive Bow Falls, Johnston Canyon, Emerald Lake and the historical Last Spike at Craigellachie. Our last two stops included a visit to the Salmon Arm Honey Bee Farm and a wine-tasting session in one of the largest vineyards in Kelowna.

The day after the tour was over, the chief planner of our trip, Kenny Lau and his wife Gloria, hosted a sumptuous dinner at his house in Burnaby. It was followed by a very entertaining Karaoke session at Robert Ku's residence the next evening. Kenny and Robert also took the trouble of bringing some of our classmates to the Grouse Mountain, Capilano Suspension Bridge and other famous landmarks in the Vancouver area. While many of us have been to the Canadian Rockies and Vancouver before, we all agree that with so many of our fellow students and families from Class '71 travelling together this time around, it is just one heck of a fantastic journey, experience and reunion that we truly enjoy and will never forget.
