It's not something you see everyday but our Class of 1960 did it. They had their 50th Anniversary Reunion in November 2010 in Hong Kong. See the pictures taken in the campus and at a banquet. The two-part video (Part I, Part II) contains a lot of footage of our school, which will certain recall a lot of memories of your days in Wah Yan.
Class of 1960 - 50th Anniversary Reunion
On November 13, 2010, 1960 graduates returned to Kowloon Wah Yan campus for a homecoming visit. They toured the school grounds guided by several school prefects and witnessed additions such as the swimming pool and three new wings that weren’t there before. A group picture was taken in front of the Chapel and then they shared a catered buffet lunch before breaking up for the afternoon.
The group gathered again in the evening for a welcoming dinner at the Shanghai Fraternity Association. Fr Mallin and Fr Stephen Chow were the honoured quests. The Class presented a cheque to Fr Chow for the Father Kelly Education Fund. Besides enjoying a sumptuous dinner, all those present got to listen to each other giving a short account of their happy memories, nostalgic moments during their years at Wah Yan. It was a fun evening for all after re-acquainting themselves with each other after all these years.
The reunion continued with a 3-day trip to Chime Long, Panyu and Oct East, Shenzen. Highlights of the tour were the visit to the Chime Long zoo and watching the international circus show, and at Oct East, Shenzen, visit to Ecoventure Valley, Tea Stream Resort Valley and attending another show. The trip concluded with a farewell dinner at Oi Suen Restaurant in the Hong Kong Jockey Club at Shatin.
All those present thanked the efforts of the organizing committee headed by Dr Kwan Man Woo, his better half Victoria, Dr Yu Kwan and Jerry Yu Jer Tsang in Hong Kong and Felix Wong and Tsao Chi Wing in the USA. They are looking forward to the next gathering in two years’ time.
